Rules Unique to N-Sider

Your first impression on us is critical. If you come across as an idiot, you will be banned immediately.

This forum utilizes a warning system to encourage good posting quality. Warnings will be given when a post of poor quality is made, but only if the post shows potential for improvement. Leniency will also be given if the user has been an otherwise strong contributor to the forums. All other cases will result in an immediate banning.

If you are unsure of what qualifies as "poor quality", then do not post. Read the posts of others, especially those of veterans. As a guide, here is a list that could potentially result in a warning and if malicious enough, a ban:

  • Posting messages or topics that don't add any value to forum discussion, especially in excess.
  • Double posting. I.e., Posting consecutive messages in a single topic without a significant (read: days) amount of time between them.
  • Posting a new topic that deals with the discussion of an already pre-existing topic actively taking place in the forums.
    • That said, the ressurection of old and inactive threads should be avoided, in general. If you're unsure, ask someone by way of Private Messaging.
  • Creating a topic or post with the main purpose of welcoming yourself.
  • Bumping a thread. I.e., Posting in a thread without any new content.
  • Posting information with no source to back it up. This includes posting rumoured information without labelling it as such.
  • Posting messages or topics with an excessive amount of UPPERCASE letters, whether it be the entire message, alternating letters and/or separated blocks.
  • Insulting any forum member.
  • Placing an image in your signature. Using a few smilies is acceptable, but try not to be excessive about it.
Note: Proper grammar and spelling are a must. It doesn't have to be perfect, but please show respect to your fellow forum members and make the effort.

Warnings can be potentially removed at any time with an apology and/or a suitable explanation. A ban may also be potentially removed at any time with an apology and/or a suitable explanation.
